I love being Auntie Em

So, I have to tell you - tonight I was talking to mom on the phone. Adia stays the night with "Gigi and Pappa" on Mondays, so of course she was a wonderful part of our conversation. We were all talking together on speakerphone, and Adia was telling me some things about her day. All of the sudden, Mom's voice sounds very distant and I hear her saying "Where are you going, Adia?" The next thing I know, mom is laughing and telling me (still a fair distance from the speakerphone) that Adia has run into the family room with the phone. So, three or four times, Adia would take the phone and run away into another room. I laughed 'til my stomach hurt. Then I asked her, "Are we going faster than Gigi?" She said yes.

Also, mom ran upstairs to get an article for me and Adia decided that she would stay downstairs and paint and talk to me on the phone. This is a pretty big deal because she doesn't like to be physically alone a lot of the time. But we just talked about the snow and painting. The phone (because of the slow internet connection) cut out for about 60 seconds and I couldn't hear her. I kept saying, "Adi, are you there?" but no reply. Finally I heard her definitive, "yes" and I knew we were connected again. I explained that sometimes I couldn't hear on the phone, but I was back. Well, ten minutes later, after mom had come back, I was talking to mom and Adia was just playing. The phone cut out again (not for as long - maybe 20 seconds) and when I came back, mom told me that Adia had told her, "Don't worry, Auntie will come back." SO CUTE!

Lastly, early on in the conversation, Adia told me she was eating my cotton candy. I told her I LOVE cotton candy, and she said "You come back here and eat candy?" I told her that I would come back, but right now I am in Bolivia. Then a few minutes later she was telling me about her baby and I asked her if she would give her baby a kiss for me. She said no, and then I asked could her baby give Her a kiss from me. She laughed and said, "You come home and kiss me." I just about cried (happy tears). I love this precious little girl with all my heart!
